My story

Hi, I am Michal Ferber ,

As a homeschooled kid in small-town South Carolina, I was always drawn to computers. Once I realized I had a natural knack for technology, I never looked back. After graduating a couple of years early from high school, I kicked off my career on graduation day with an internship at a local system integrator. That led me deep into the world of programming, network infrastructure, telephony, and system automation.

Over the past 30+ years in IT, I've worn a lot of hats — developer, network engineer, sysadmin, consultant — and earned a long list of certifications from Microsoft, Google, Citrix, Ascom, Genesys, Milestone VMS, and many more (yes, even the original MCSE on NT 4.0).

What really sets me apart is my ability to think end-to-end. I don't just write code — I design self-sustaining systems. From front-end interfaces to back-end APIs, database design, and DevOps automation, I build tools that are functional, secure, and easy to maintain.

These days, you'll find me scripting in Bash and Python, managing Dockerized services, building Jekyll-based websites, and fine-tuning self-hosted dashboards — all while staying curious and learning new things. Whether it's a Linux box in my home lab, a cloud VM, or a Raspberry Pi under my desk, I enjoy making tech work together like it was always meant to.
